Moving mountains.

In the last few days, my team has moved mountains. Well, at least they moved rock walls. And that was just a small part of it.

moving mountainsLet me begin to tell you what they’ve been doing. While serving approximately 600 summer campers, they’re also simultaneously preparing for 780 people to arrive for the weekend as part of Kensington Church’s Rock Your Family weekend.

They have innovated new ways to schedule campers and staff more efficiently.

They came up with new activities when old ones weren’t working.

They fixed, and then fixed again paintball markers and safety fences.

They have spent countless hours observing, resourcing, coaching and correcting their staff.

They’ve taken dozens of team members on fun-on-ones.

They have taken, edited and uploaded thousands of photos of campers, combed through hundreds of hours of video, created some amazing highlight videos, and produced dozens of live worship sessions in three locations.

They have ordered, inventoried, distributed, and managed tons of consumable goods required for daily target sports, crafts, and other activities.

They have been out at 6am every day to run in horses, tack them, water and feed them.

They’ve taken hundreds of students on trail rides, taught hours of English and Western riding lessons under a hot, dry sun.

They’ve cleaned things.

They’ve organized sheds.

They’ve stayed late.

They’ve come in early.

And they’ve done it all with smiles on their faces, without voicing a single complaint.

I’m proud of my team… for moving mountains… and rock walls, and for being part of a life-transforming experience for so many children, teens and young adults at SpringHill Camps. If you see one of them, tell them thank you. I will.
